St Lawrence Youth Association has an immediate need for

Casual Residential Direct Care Workers

To assist youth in conflict with the law, 12 to 17 years of age, in open and secure custody facilities.

University degree preferred and/or community college diploma from a recognized post- secondary institution in psychology, criminology, social work or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience working with high risk youth.

Candidates should possess a positive philosophy, strong counseling and interpersonal skills, the ability to implement cognitive behavioural programs with adolescents, superior organization and computer skills, a current First Aid/CPR-C certificate, a valid class G driver’s license, criminal reference check that is declared suitable for vulnerable sector employment, physician’s note indicating fit to work and up to date Immunization status according to national standards. Bilingualism and volunteer experience are assets. Applicants must be available to attend a mandatory training period (begins November 14, 2018) and be able to work a shift schedule consisting of immediate call in and predetermined shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.

Wage: $20.32 per hour plus 10% in lieu of benefits.
