Intercultural Coach Training

Newcomer immigrant and refugees bring valuable skills and experience to our community. Newcomers also face many challenges on the road to employment. Whether you've successfully navigated into your career or you're still on the journey, we're looking for you to help change the landscape.

We are offering 9 hours of paid training to become an Intercultural Intelligence Coach.  By combining this training with your skills and experience, you can gain valuable experience and contacts while empowering local employers to benefit form intercultural inclusion. Our next  3 day training session takes place over the last three Mondays of September.  Participants must register in advance and attend all three sessions to qualify as a coach.  To register, please book an intake meeting at info@keys.ca or 613.546.5559.

Commitment:

  • 9 hours of in-class training
  • 4-5 hours preparation on your own time
  • Willingness to work with KEYS Intercultural Intelligence Toolkit – a set of training material designed by newcomers to Kingston and the KEYS Inclusive Workplaces Coordinator

Benefits:

  • Receive a certificate as Newcomers Empowering Business Intercultural Coach Level 1.
  • Receive $150 in compensation for completing the course
  • Be eligible to offer paid training to local employers on intercultural intelligence and newcomer inclusion

Eligibility:

  • Permanent Resident or Convention Refugee
  • International education and/or work experience
  • Experience in the Kingston job market
  • English CLB 5 or higher
  • Desire to make a difference in Kingston
