Certification Workshops

Certification workshops (Service Excellence, Smart Serve) have an associated fee unless you are registered with KEYS.  If you wish to attend, but are not registered with KEYS services, please call ahead to make an appointment to meet with an Employment Advisor.

Job Search Workshop for Newcomers to Canada

New to Canada?

Seeking help landing your first job? Or been here a while and struggling with
your job search? Feeling frustrated by the lack of response?

Join us for The Job Search Workshop for Newcomers to Canada:

  • Develop a targeted job search action plan focused on reaching your short and long-term goals
  • Learn how to market yourself with resume and interview strategies, networking tips, and more
  • Learn about the Kingston labour market, employer expectations, Canadian workplace cultures and your rights & responsibilitie.

You will also hear from established newcomer peers about their journeys to meaningful employment and meet guest employers.

Following the completion of this workshop, you will have the opportunity to schedule an individual appointment to receive feedback and support with your action plan.

Who is this training for? Newcomers looking to land your first job in Canada or advance your career.

Eligibility Criteria:
• Permanent Resident or Convention Refugee
• English skills – CLB 5+
• Basic computer skills

This workshop takes place over 4 days, in-person at a KEYS office. Lunch and refreshments are provided for all 4 days! 

 

A?certificate of attendance is issued?upon workshop completion. 

Covid-19 guidelines & protocols for in-house workshops will be implemented.
