CHART - a Career in Hospitality & Tourism

DATE(S) AND TIME(S):
Monday, 30th May to Friday, 15th June 2022

WHERE:
2.5-weeks Virtual/In-person Training

Prepare for an exciting and fast-paced career in hospitality and tourism. The 2-weeks of training and 1 week of job search supports will be a mix of virtual pre-employment training and experiential classroom culminating with two days of culinary training the service of a 3-course meal, prepared and served by you!.

Also included are: Workplace Essentials, Smart Serve, Service Excellence, Diversity and Inclusion, Safe Food Handling, WHMIS etc. and job search preparation.

Participants must be:

• Interested in a career in customer service and hospitality.

• Punctual, courteous team player able to follow directions and interested in job training

• Over the age of 18 (because of alcohol service)

• Citizen, PR, Refugee claimants with a 900-series SIN and an open work permit residing in the Kingston area

• Not working full time, not currently in school full time

• Proficient in spoken and written English (CLB 6 for those who have first languages other than English)

• Committed to attending 2 weeks of fulltime, in class training starting May 30th, 2022 and to participating in a supported job search, followed by a paid work placement.

D-Z Licence and a JOB!

DATE(S) AND TIME(S):
Monday, 30th May to 30th June, 2022 - full days

WHERE:
Experiential training at various training sites

Obtain your D-Z licence and get a job!

This FREE 5-week program will give you employerrecognized training & paid work experience, so you can begin a long-term career as a D-Z driver.

To apply you should be:

  • Currently unemployed or underemployed
  • Available to participate in all of the training and seeking full-time employment upon completion

As a participant, you will:

  • Obtain your D-Z Licence
  • Gain Transportation of Dangerous Goods training
  • Obtain CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Learn about Traffic Hazard Control

5-week program starts: May 30th, 2022
