Job Description:
REPORTS TO: MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Responsibilities:
• Adhere to rules, procedures, safe work practices, health and safety standards and use of
personal protective equipment
• Report and investigate all near misses/incidents/accidents resulting in personal injury or
property damage
• Comply with Food Safety & Quality policies and procedures
• Ensure forms and checklists properly, completely, accurately, and legibly filled out
• Maintain safe and clean work environment; follow area checklists for sanitation and inspection
requirements
• Proper handling of lifting and transport equipment, adhering to safety conditions
• Maintain control of tools, fasteners, and machine components when conducting PMs or repairs,
fully accounting for all after work has been completed
• Perform and document changeovers on Fruit Room equipment (e.g. changing blades, filters,
screens)
• Carry out assigned PMs and record activities on Maintenance Job Cards
• Respond to, repair and document breakdowns on Job Cards, including spare parts consumed
• Ensure controlled maintenance compounds (e.g. lubricants, greases) are properly stored and
only approved compounds are permitted onsite
• Monitor contractors and service providers performing work within the facility
• Record consumption of water, gas and energy
• Immediately report non-conformances to QC and Maintenance Manager
• Be willing to cross-train in different functions as needed; required to train new or transferred
employees
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
• Licenced millwright is an asset
• Willingness to be trained in driving forklifts or other powered material handling equipment
• Knowledge of GMPs preferred
• Strong attention to detail, in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.; be able to stand, bend, lift, twist, and turn for extended periods of
time
• Work effectively both independently and within a team environment
• Must be safety and quality conscious
• Must be available for rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
• Flexibility is required due to business needs; advanced notice will be given
