Job Description:

As a member of the store's management team, the Department Manager contributes to success by communicating the business objectives of the Associate Dealer and ensuring that the department team consistently meets performance expectations in terms of customer experience, sales growth, retail execution and profitability. Retail experience is essential in this exciting and challenging position.


  • Ensure department maintains its gold status and recertifies within the allotted time each year
  • Ensure, in coordination with promotions department that feature areas, wings and strips are kept full signed and clean
  • Ensure, in coordination with promotions department that weekly deal setup is executed and maintained
  • Spend sufficient time with employees to keep them current with new store policies and procedures and ensure there is an ongoing training process assist in limiting staff turnover
  • Spend sufficient lime with new employees to ensure they have all of the training and tools necessary to complete their daily tasks
  • Ensure quality of store presentation focusing on the 5 basics of retail (Customer service, Faced, Filled, Signed and Cleaned) through effective staff delegation and direct involvement
  • Complete a daily walk of all areas of responsibilities to identify priorities and daily tasks
  • Ensure department holes are kept within goals, as determined by Store/General Manager through daily secondary replenishment
  • Budget staff hours according to store management goals and customer service needs
  • Supervise daily departmental operations so as to meet established productivity goals
  • Plan and schedule staff hours according to store needs and the budget
  • Identify and implement departmental/store efficiencies
  • Assist in the selection and orientation of new hires
  • Communicate and ensure compliance with company, store and department policies
  • Maintain department and store safety and security procedures and ensure staff compliance
  • Organize and conduct regular departmental staff meetings
  • Participate in training, as required
  • Complete other tasks, as required


  • Experience in retail sales, execution and operations
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Ability to provide professional customer service and employee support
  • Ability to lead a team to achieve common goals
  • Ability to maintain composure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Basic math skills
