Description
About Lisata
Lisata is a Kingston-based importer and retailer of premium Japanese matcha, teas and specialty coffee. Our downtown Kingston showroom & tasting bar opens in winter 2026–27: a small, calm space where customers taste before they buy and learn how to brew at home.
You will prepare matcha, tea, espresso and filter coffee to our recipes, guide customers through short tastings, and keep the bar spotless. Every drink is weighed and timed; you will learn to taste and adjust like a specialty barista. No experience required: we provide 2weeks of paid training on our brewing, tasting and food-safety standards before opening day.
What you will do
Prepare drinks to recipe cards (dose, yield, time, temperature) and taste before serving
Welcome customers, explain products, run 5-minute tastings and recommend retail items
Take orders on the self-service kiosk and serve through the pick-up counter and service window
Open or close the bar using our checklist: dial-in, cleaning, back flush, temperature logs
Keep the bar, retail shelves and tasting counter clean and stocked; wash and sanitize equipment
Support content filming and in-store events occasionally
